Our Network

An Orchestra Network for Europe – ONE®, is a distinctive network of classical symphony orchestras initiated in 2003.

Focusing on addressing the specific issues of the classical music sector, ONE® has designed cooperation projects promoting intercultural dialogue and extending artistic reach across borders.

Since 2005, the network has received support from the European Union under the Culture and Creative Europe Programmes for five successive periods of activity called ONE, ONE a new dimension, ONE® step further, ONE® goes places and ONE® is more.

From July 2015 to March 2019, in line with the objectives and priorities of the Creative Europe programme and inspired by a long-standing experience of cooperation, the 8 partners of ONE® is more will show how classical music opens up to digital technologies and interacts with visual arts. Orchestre de Picardie (Amiens-France), Jenaer Philharmonie (Jena-Germany), Slovak Sinfonietta Žilina (Žilina-Slovakia), RTV Slo Symphony Orchestra (Ljubljana-Slovenia), Filharmonia Śląska im. Henryka Mikołaja Góreckiego (Katowice-Poland), Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic Orchestra (Zlín-Czech Republic), New Symphony Orchestra (Sofia-Bulgaria) and University for the Creative Arts – UCA (Canterbury-UK) will develop innovative and creative interdisciplinary classical music experiences for larger audiences across Europe.

Over this period, in order to achieve the 38 scheduled activities, the partners will also rely on the involvement of 22 associated organizations from Europe and further (China – Mexico).

In addition to the long-established activities of exchange of orchestra musicians, mobility of trans-national chamber music groups, circulation of cultural works, residency of composers, commissioning of new pieces, performances of combined orchestras, pre-professional training of young musicians, promotion of young artists and coordination meetings, ONE® is more will provide sustainable pre-professional and lifelong music training, support research & development and propose innovative approaches to diversify the concert format.
